ADOPT-A-ROOM

The Rectory is “our home” and not only represents us as a parish but also is the living and office space for Father John and visitors.  It has been 25 years since the Rectory has had a “makeover” to the inside rooms.  While the house has “good bones” it does require our help.  Pictures have been taken of the rooms for you to look at.

Pictures are also on display in the church.

The listing of what is needed is as complete as possible, but once you start, you may find other repairs/updates that either need to be done or that you would like to do to your “adopted” room.

Sample Of  Materials And Labor That May Be Needed For To Repair A Room

To give you an idea of what a room may cost in materials, our group, which consists of Jerry & Linda Cronin, Al & Reyna McLean and George & Diane Olson are repairing/updating the third bedroom that is located in the upstairs living area.  The materials will cost approximately $180 or $60 per couple.

The materials needed are:  10 sheets of sheetrock and materials to install sheetrock, 2 gallons of paint, 1 gallon of primer, baseboard, glass light fixture and misc. supplies.

Labor needed to repair this room -  repair ceiling where there is a water leak, repair cracks in walls, scrape and paint base molding, install new cap molding to existing base molding, tape, sand and prime new walls & ceiling, scrape off old paint, paint repaired walls, install new light fixture.

The pictures for this room are available for you to look at.  They will be marked as “Bedroom #3”

Type of Labor Required

Prior to beginning the project you will need to remove existing furniture, window coverings, pictures on the walls and put down plastic to cover the carpet.  You may need to tape around windows and doorways prior to painting.  Painters tape will be provided.    After you have completed the job, you will need to reassemble the room by removing the painter’s tape, plastic, bringing back and placing the furniture and re-hang the pictures

How Do I Adopt-A-Room?

Contact your friends and family and select a room.  We know that we have many talented parishioners who could help.  Make this a fun project!    We are asking that you consider either donating the cost of the materials and/or labor.

The coordinator for this project is Diane Olson.   Please call her at 320-275-3664 or email her with your room selection or questions.

If you would like to see the Rectory prior to signing up for a room, please contact Diane Olson and she will make arrangements for a tour.

THANK YOU in advance for your prayers and your donation towards the cost of materials and/or your labor to help with this project
