The Divine Mercy Novena begins today, Good Friday. The Feast of Divine Mercy is April 27th, the first Sunday after Easter. It is a big event this year because Pope John XXIII and Pope John Paul II will be canonized. John Paul II is the pope who canonized St. Faustina and was a promoter of this devotion. In addition to the original promises of complete forgiveness of sins for those who prayed the Novena and honored his mercy on the Feast, the Church has also granted the honoring of Our Lord's Mercy on Divine Mercy Sunday with an official Plenary Indulgence. If the Divine Mercy devotion is not a part of your daily prayer life, please consider time for it. This is a much needed devotion to draw down mercy and grace on our troubled world and troubled souls. Follow the link below to find information on the Chaplet, Novena and the Feast.
